About Turmeric
Haridra, Haldi, or Turmeric—also known as the golden spice—has been used in India for thousands of years. Historical evidence suggests its use dates back nearly 4000 years to the Ancient Vedic culture, both as a culinary spice and for religious significance.
Turmeric is native to tropical South Asia. Its rhizomes are often referred to as bulbs or fingers. Turmeric contains an important bioactive compound called curcumin, which has notable anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties, contributing to its renowned healing benefits.
